Management Organisation & Key People

Peter Allen – Managing Director

Peter established his business based in Plymouth but working all over the UK employing time served coded pipe welders, pipe fitters, in August 1886, August 1999 Allen Welding Ltd was established. He is a fully coded welder with a wealth of experience working in the utility sector working on gas, oil, nuclear, water, steam projects, pipeline construction projects from 1” to 42”, bridge repairs for Highways Agency. He has also acted has a consultant to various companies advising of the specifications needed for varying types of projects.

Shane Allen – Director
Shane has been a Director for AWL since 2016 and has managed projects from procurement stage to completion for Gas, Oil, Water, Steam sectors across the UK. Shane served his apprenticeship with AWL and has been a fully qualified welder/ pipefitter since 2006. He is SCO 1,2, 5 registered. He has attended WWU Deep Excavation / Hydraulic Pressure Testing training and Gas Manager for Service and Main laying.

Project Manager

With over 40yrs experience within the gas industry, He has a vast amount of knowledge and has been managing our projects for the past 5yrs. He has qualification in the following: SCO 1&2, 4&5, Project Management, incident management, SHEA Gas, programming of escapes, anchorage for engineers, excavations and practical exercise, emergency planning, horizontal directional drilling, managing health and safety, deep excavations in confined spaces, contractor management, high volume gas escapes and street works supervisor.

Project Manager

He also has over 38yrs experience within the gas industry. Managing our project and most recent projects include Carkeel Roundabout, Saltash & Strawberry Line Diversion, Cheddar. Our Project Manager has the following qualifications: SCO 1&2, 4&5, Confined spaces, Accident Investigation Training, 3 Ton Grundowinch, CAT 4+ & Jenny 4, Deep Excavation and street works

Health & Safety Advisor
He has worked for the company for 9 years on all aspects of our work. He has been our H&S Advisor for the last year and holds NEBOSH Qualifications. He works closely with Project Managers and employees to ensure that they understand the procedural requirements of their responsibilities . He monitors the Allen Welding Ltd Health & Safety Policy and associated procedures pertaining to health and safety and gives advice and updates as required on legislation and good practice. He has a SHEA Gas qualification and Managing Gas Safely and IOSH Managing Safely qualifications.
